From idea to successful exit
At 9elements, we maintain a close relationship with universities. During a workshop on digitalization at the University of Witten/Herdecke, we met Stefan and Daniel – two young students with a clear vision: to revolutionize the internship market.
We were so impressed by the two of them that we kicked off a sparring process together and thoroughly tested the idea.
Out of a hundred ideas, only one remained.
Out of countless revenue streams, initially just one.
We translated this into a well-thought-out customer journey and supported it with exemplary design. With that in hand, the two founders set out and closed their first deals during presales. The first version of meinpraktikum.de quickly gained its first satisfied customers. But during many conversations it became clear:
The market for vocational training placements was even bigger. The focus was quickly adjusted, the domain ausbildung.de secured, and the concept further developed accordingly.
9elements was practically the first investor, helping to turn the vision into a market-ready product. We supported the building of a small team and contributed to many further projects.
The project grew rapidly and was eventually sold to Bertelsmann – for a double-digit million amount. Even after the exit, we stayed on board to continue developing the platform both technically and conceptually, and to support it strategically.
